Hi.
Have you tried setting vplayer to using stable engine?
It helped me with streaming de in my Android devices.

Thanks for the vplayer info.

I have analysed the streaming services (both SilverLight and standard) and they both don't release the flag that stops standby. It is very easy to check, as at the command prompt, just type in "powercfg -requests" and it tells you exactly what is stopping the system from going into standby.

So, until streaming is used, the system will go into standby and afterwards, it will not.

Edit 26 July
The results seem to be recording specific i.e. I can constantly get the "no standby" bug after viewing one particular recording and not have the bug with another particular recording. Both recordings are 2 channel PCM and non interlaced. This was tested with the Android client.

What a wonderfull app and service, I´m completely blown away.
This is just what I always wanted.

But alas I´m affected with the RP service hogging the system, preventing standby, after I´m done streaming.
I currently only connect using my iphone 4.
And as others have posted, I have to reboot the HTPC or restart the service...

Hoping for an early fix...

great job!

It's not a permanent solution, but maybe installing Mediacenter Standy Tool (http://slicksolutions.eu/) and setting it to go to Sleep after i.e. 4 hours without user input is a way to deal with this until a permanent fix is found. The tool allows you to either send the pc to sleep after x time without user input, or x time after Mediacenter not being busy. The first option is maybe the most reliable; it makes quite sure your pc goes to sleep after x timr. just set it to any duration exceeding the time you'd normally watch a stream in one session, like 4 hours.

Hi

Seems like, when i updated from iOS 4.1 to 4.3.3 the problem went away.

Just tested it briefly, but my pc entered sleep after the magical 30min. after it had been streaming to my iphone 4.
On 4.1 it never worked at all, tried a bunch of times....

Will do some more testing
