Schedule recording with login credentials?

Postby woody11 » Fri May 20, 2011 3:37 pm

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find anything in the forums.

The Android RP app does not allow the user to schedule recordings if the server is set up to require login credentials. Can someone explain the reason for this? I'm reluctant to turn off the login requirement for security reasons, but I would like to be able to schedule from my phone.

Any chance that this capability will be added?

When in EPG or browsing channels you can press on a tv program and go into program details where you can record a show.

As far as I remember when I coded this: If, however, you are talking about manual recording, having user credentials is not yet possible with the XML API provided. (FYI I used the set manual recording of the API of the HTML RP client, which does not use login tokens in its http requests).

OK, so this is a limitation of the API. Seems to me, though, that when I use the web access method from a PC, I am able to do manual recordings. I'll test that again and make sure it works. Is there any chance of changing the method for manual scheduling to allow this to work?

I would like to make it clear that the API allows clients to schedule recordings when login security is enabled on the server.

Any restrictions placed upon this are not limited by the API.

I am trying to set a manual recording with xml like follows:

<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-16\"?>
<RecordingRequest xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:xsd=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema\">
<RequestCreationDate>2012-03-25T21:32:13.5344+01:00</RequestCreationDate>
<RequestType>Manual</RequestType>
<SeriesRequestSubType>ThisChannelThisTime</SeriesRequestSubType>
<FirstRunOnly>false</FirstRunOnly>
<KeepNumberOfEpisodes>0</KeepNumberOfEpisodes>
<TVProgrammeID/>
<StartTime>2013-01-01T00:00:00</StartTime>
<ServiceID>121263678409</ServiceID>
<Duration>1234</Duration>
<MCChannelID>0</MCChannelID>
<KeepUntil>NotSet</KeepUntil>
<Quality>-1</Quality>
<Prepadding>60</Prepadding>
<Postpadding>60</Postpadding>
<ManualRecordingName>title</ManualRecordingName>
</RecordingRequest>

Although this is a manual recording, I get the Errormessage:
No TV Programme ID was specified.

even if I use a dummy existing TV Programme ID. Which, I think, I don't need because it is a manual recording to be set
