Not sure of the ports there.
Do you have any special characters in your username or password?
I will let piet find the reason why.

The http live streaming used, doesn't need any port forwarding.

You might also check whether there are any trailing spaces in your userid and/or password setup in RMC. Of course Andreas or I could try from our end, you need to provide him/me with your ip etc.
It is great when you use Remote Media Center for android, see frequently asked questions, any donations would be appreciated.

Just checked, no spaces in the userid or password setup...

To eliminate strange characters I changed the user & pass to "test" & "test"

But still the same situation...

Via RMC over intranet (direct IP access to 192.168.1.5 & port 9080): no problem
Via browser over intranet & internet: no problem
Via RMC over internet: Remote patato server ready; Error trying to get login credentials

What does your logcat show, when this happens? You can make a logcat with the free app alogcat.

This problem is solved. Timeout for getting login credentials has been increased from 2 to 20 seconds.

I have been trying to get RMC for my Android phone working again. I have finally made some breakthroughs and wish to share them with you. First of all months ago I was able to stream my Recorded TV using MoboPlayer but now I am/was not able to. I have been able to stream my TV to other PC's on my network using both the Http://My.Dyndns.com:9080 and PC_IP:9080 formats. Trouble was the Android option. On a different thead a user clued me into trying Daroon Player and I had success. Trouble is there is no seek option. With both Daroon player and MoboPlayer installed to my Android phone I copied the stream URL (http://My.dyndns.tv:9080/httplivestreem ... index.m3u8) without closing Daroon player i Opened Mobo Player and pasted the URL into the Stream area and the video Played. Seems that when RMC starts the stream and opens Mobo Player to play back there is a glitch. If I let RMC start the stream and enter into Daroon, Pause Daroon, Then paste the stream URL into Mobo it now functions.

Does it work with either vplayer, rockplayer lite or maybe also mx player?

I know we are chatting in several other threads about this but I will let you know about the other players. I know I can not test vPlayer. My phone is not compatible.
