Yes, another video player would be nice. Woody11 already indicated that vlc, when it comes out, might be a candidate. However I did find out that vlc on the pc does have some strange hickups when playing an Apple HTTP live stream.

Hi PIet,

Does your app take into account the recording postpadding value set in the Remote Potato Server ? I missed the last couple of minutes of the soap GTST , my wife was not pleased :-)

Sorry about that mishap. I checked the code and indeed I use 60 seconds as pre- and postpadding.
Next version will adhere to the settings in the server.

With Netfix supported in Media Center, and not on Andriod anytime soon, would it be possible to tap into the Netflix with Remote Potato and your Remote Media Center app?

Hi, is there a way to make it record on any channel when you do a series record? In Windows Media Center, if I tell it to record a TV show series, it would record on any channel but I can't get it to do on the app. I have dual digital and dual analog so, when the dual digital tuners are being used, it can record on the analog channel rather than the digital and vice versa. I also have WMC setup to record on HD as the preferred channel.

Thanks.

If you have merged the channels in wmc, rp will use the available tuner in the order you have set up in wmc.
No mather what client you use.

piet,
Having remote button functions is great but needing to use the remote image itself is awkward to use to say the least - I must stretch the image and scroll to use it. Can you make a screen layout with buttons to make better use of the space, and make it easier to use?

Also, is there a way to launch Recorded TV shows or switch Live TV channels - on the TV itself, not streaming to the Android?

thx

Hey, installed your app and love it, i can control my complete mediacenter and watch movies via Moboplayer.

Do have a question on using the app via internet...

On my intranet, no problem, the app recognises my mediacenter and I can view everything...

Via the internet I did all the correct port forwards to the mediacenter (I selected 5050 & 5051-5053)

When I then try to access via my dyndns account I get the following:
Remote patato server ready; Error trying to get login credentials

EDIT: also tried with the normal ports: 9080 & 9081-9083, but same message...

Any idea???

Do you have security enabled?
Try disabling to see if that does any difference.

Just tried, I disabled security on the mediacenter "Remote Patato V1.0.6.0" and adapt the Remote Media Center V0.581 to use no security

And it works !!! So the port forwarding is setup OK for a non-secure environment, there must be something with the login when using security...

Is any other port involved in the security mechanism? Perhaps that is the problem???

Regards,
Nick
