Is there anyway to get "ultra low" bitrates?

Postby Nroeder » Thu Feb 02, 2012 5:45 am

Sometimes my 3G switches to 1x and I can no longer smoothly stream. I like to listen to talk shows in the car and don't always need decent quality video anyway.

A really really low bit rate should help. (not to mention a little bandwidth savings.)

Anyway for me to do this?

Thanks!

Edit: I'm using remote media center if that isn't obvious. Love it btw.

If we could get bandwidth usage somewhere around 60 -100 kbits that should be great. At least according to Wikipedia info on CDMA 1x expected real world speeds.

Videos still stream when its on 1x but it starts and stops. It seems it would be fine with an even lower bitrate then the lowest current option.

I know video quality would be horrendous.
